Join us for a special free screening of the movie Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot, the inspiring true story of Donna and Reverend W.C. Martin and their East Texas church, where 22 families adopted 77 children from the foster care system. Their love and faith sparked a movement that continues to change lives across the country.
Together, we will watch this powerful and thought-provoking film on the big screen, followed by a brief guided conversation about how each of us can play a role in supporting foster, adoptive, and kinship families, as well as the social workers who walk alongside them.
As part of the the Fostering Hope Merrimack Valley church network, Haverhill Commons is a proud to promote this event as a way to increase awareness of the need for local families who are willing to become foster homes. Currently, More than 4,000 children in the New England foster care system are waiting to be adopted.
