SoulCare Sunday: The Rhythm of Summer
SoulCare Sunday
Instead of gathering in our normal space for Sunday worship, on SoulCare Sunday, we partner with Rolling Ridge Retreat Center to experience God in community and embrace the wonderful rhythms of summer.

A Spiritual Director will guide us through spiritual practices in this beautiful outdoor setting . After some time in contemplation, we’ll gather to share our experiences of renewal and rest with each other, creation, and God
This event is open to adults and children, just let us know how many are attending so that we can plan accordingly.

Instead of our normal worship service, we’ll gather in the Brookridge Community Church parking lot at 10:30am. A representative from Team Haverhill will meet us and give us what we need to clean up the outdoor areas of the surrounding neighborhood, Haverhill City Hall, and the Haverhill Public Library.
This is a family friendly opportunity to serve our neigbhors in a tangible way. We hope you can join us!

Picnic at the Park
We end our seasonal alternating rhythm with a splash! Instead of our normal worship service, we'll gather with Brookridge Community Church at Swasey Park in Haverhill, for one last summer celebration. Swasey Park has a little bit for everyone, the kids will especially love running through the splash pad area.
We'll provide food and plenty of drinks to stay hydrated. All you need to do is show up!
What to Bring
We encourage everyone to bring a lawn chair, towels, and a blanket to sit on. If you want to run through the splash pad, a swimsuit is a good idea. Depending on the weather, we advise bringing sunscreen and a hat.
The park has a few baseball diamonds, open fields, and a basketball court, so feel free to bring baseball gear, a frisbee, or anything else that seems like fun.

Rooted: A Night of Worship
Rooted: A Night of Worship
On Sunday evening, July 20th, at 7pm, we’re gathering in the Fellowship Hall for Rooted: A Night of Worship. Instead of our usual Sunday morning gathering, we're dedicating an hour to sing, pray, engage with scripture, and worship God together. All ages welcome.
Our faith begins quite small. But like a seed planted in good soil, it grows, and as it is tended to it matures and grows sturdy and resilient. A tree rooted deep in the earth can endure the storms of life. It adapts as the seasons change. It bears good fruit, feeding, nourishing, and giving shade to those beneath its branches. This can also be true of us.
We invite you to come and sit at the foot of another tree and behold the one who hung upon it so that our souls may be rooted in the love and grace of God.

Backyard Bonfire
A special event with Haverhill Commons. On Saturday, July 5th, we’re combining two backyards to host a an epic backyard bonfire with plenty of activities for the kids and at least 2 fire pits. We’ll gather around the flickering flames, roast marshmallows, enjoy the company and conversation.
We’ll provide food and drinks, and then, halfway through the evening, we’ll shift into a conversation about how our faith informs our engagement with immigrants and the immigration process. These are open ended and flexible conversations, giving us a chance to practice our values of curiosity, authenticity, and humility.
You’re welcome to drop in for part of the evening or stay for the whole thing.

Reset: A Time of Prayer, Connection, and Renewal
We're often busy, anxious, distracted, and exhausted. Sometimes what our hearts, souls, and minds need is a chance to slow down, sit with other people, and turn towards God.
Every month, we're going to offer this kind of space. We're calling it Reset, a chance to be renewed by God through scripture, prayer, and praise. You don't have to pretend or posture, you can share or stay quiet. The important thing is that we'll be together, turned towards God.
Whether you're seeking fellowship, spiritual growth, or a space to share your faith, all are welcome to attend. Childcare will not be available, but we welcome young people to join who are ready to engage in this kind of gathering. We’ll have snacks available as well!

Easter Sunday and After Party
Easter Service
It’s the best Sunday of the year! We pull out all the stops for our Easter Sunday morning service, and instead of having a separate Kids Commons class, this is one of the moments during the year when we all stay together as one united group.
On Easter we’ll add special instruments to the band, decorate the sanctuary with balloons and ribbons. It’s a festive morning!
Easter Party
Easter is the best day of the year. After the service, from 10am to noon, we’ll head outside for the biggest party we know how to throw. We’ll have baby animals to pet and hold, a giant bounce house, professional face painting, ballon-making, music, freshly prepared food, handcrafted coffee beverages for the adults and more. It’s all to celebrate the life we have in Jesus.
Kids Commons
On Easter Sunday, everyone, kids included, celebrate together during our main service. On your way into the service, make sure to grab a special gift that includes all kinds of fun and meaningful activities for kids of all ages.

Sisterhood Saturday - Floral Bar Party
Sisterhood Saturdays are a regular opportunity for women to get together for connection and encouragement.
We're gathering on Saturday, March 8th at 5pm for a Global Dinner edition of Sisterhood Saturdays! Please bring a prepared recipe that celebrates a culture close to your heart (dish/drink/appetizer). We hope you can join us!

Good Friday
Good Friday Service
Good Friday is a special day in the Church calendar, and we honor that day with a special service reflecting on the death and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The contemplative space will offer us a chance to consider the love of God displayed on Calvary and hear from members of our community who have been engaging spiritual practices during this season of Lent.
Kids Commons
Rather than offer a separate service for children on Good Friday, we welcome children to join us the service in the sanctuary.

Maundy Thursday Eat Ups
On Maundy Thursday we remember the Last Supper that Jesus had with his disciples. We will be gathering in homes throughout the Merrimack Valley, sharing a potluck meal with each other, and participating in a Maundy Thursday craft that we’ll display on Easter Sunday!
We’ve provided two different versions of a Maundy Thursday Liturgy, one for adults and one for those who are observing Maundy Thursday with children.
Click here to sign up to attend a Maundy Thursday!

Guys Get Together
More than half of men in America feel really lonely. It can be hard to find genuine, in-person connection, let alone deep friendships.
That's one of the reasons we've created a space for guys at the Commons to get together for food and fellowship. These gatherings are an easy, casual way to get to know and encourage one another in our faith.
This month we'll be meeting at 38 Scotland Heights Road, Haverhill, MA 01832.
We hope you can make it!
