Maundy Thursday
On Maundy Thursday we remember the Last Supper that Jesus had with his disciples. Thursday, April 2, at 6pm, we will gather in the Fellowship Hall at church to share a meal of soups and bread and participate in a Maundy Thursday liturgy and craft making activity. This will be a family friendly evening of worship, fellowship, and guided activity.
Click here to sign up to attend a Maundy Thursday! Please let us know what kind of soup you’re preparing if you’re planning on bringing a soup and also let us know if you have an food allergies we need to be aware of.
Good Friday
Good Friday Service
Good Friday is a special day in the Church calendar, and we honor that day with a special service reflecting on the death and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The contemplative space will offer us a chance to consider the love of God displayed on Calvary and hear from members of our community about who Jesus is to them.
Kids Commons
Rather than offer a separate service for children on Good Friday, we welcome children to join us the service upstairs in the Sanctuary.
Easter Sunday and After Party
Easter Service
It’s the best Sunday of the year! We pull out all the stops for our Easter Sunday morning service, and instead of having a separate Kids Commons class, this is one of the moments during the year when we all stay together as one united group.
On Easter we’ll add special instruments to the band, decorate the sanctuary with balloons and ribbons. It’s a festive morning! We’re also concluding service by baptizing members of our community into the faith and celebrating their decision to follow Jesus..
Easter Party
Easter is the best day of the year. After the service, from noon to 2pm, we’ll head downstairs for the biggest party we know how to throw. We’ll have baby animals to pet and hold, a variety of games and activities, professional face painting, ballon-making, music, freshly prepared food, handcrafted coffee beverages for the adults, an opportunity to show our support and appreciation to local teachers and more. It’s all to celebrate the life we have in Jesus!
Kids Commons
On Easter Sunday, everyone, kids included, celebrate together during our main service. On your way into the service, make sure to grab a special gift that includes all kinds of fun and meaningful activities for kids of all ages.

SoulCare Sunday: The Rhythm of Spring
SoulCare Sunday
Instead of gathering in our normal space for Sunday worship, on April 19th at 10:30am, we partner with Rolling Ridge Retreat Center for SoulCare Sunday—a chance to rest in community and embrace the unique rhythms of spring.
The property at Rolling Ridge includes a quiet lakefront, green pastures, and winding paths through the woods.
A Spiritual Director will guide us through some contemplative practices in community, after which we’ll gather to share our experiences of renewal and rest with each other, creation, and God.
This event is open to adults and children, just let us know how many are attending so that we can plan accordingly.

Sound of Hope Movie Screening
Join us for a special free screening of the movie Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot, the inspiring true story of Donna and Reverend W.C. Martin and their East Texas church, where 22 families adopted 77 children from the foster care system. Their love and faith sparked a movement that continues to change lives across the country.
Together, we will watch this powerful and thought-provoking film on the big screen, followed by a brief guided conversation about how each of us can play a role in supporting foster, adoptive, and kinship families, as well as the social workers who walk alongside them.
As part of the the Fostering Hope Merrimack Valley church network, Haverhill Commons is a proud to promote this event as a way to increase awareness of the need for local families who are willing to become foster homes. Currently, More than 4,000 children in the New England foster care system are waiting to be adopted.

Ash Wednesday Service
Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday is a reminder that we are human. A reminder that we have limits. A recognition of our need.
Ash Wednesday is an invitation to hear and respond to the Gospel again, to consider the words of Jesus: "The time promised by God has come at last!” he announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”
Together, we turn our eyes towards Jerusalem and diligently, deliberately, move to the cross and onward through death to the Hope of the Resurrection on Easter Sunday.
Kids Commons
Due to staffing limitations, there will be no 0 to 6 Year Old Class. If you feel comfortable, we still encourage you to bring your children and if your child needs a break, the Fellowship Hall space next door will be available.
We invite 1st through 5th Graders to participate in the gathering with their parents and guardians downstairs in the Chapel space off the Fellowship Hall.

Sabbath Sunday - No Church This Sunday
Sabbath Sunday - No Church This Sunday
Instead of our usual Sunday morning gathering, we invite you to rest at home with friends and family!
Worship doesn’t just happen at church on Sunday mornings. We’re worshiping all the time. At home, at school, our places of work, and with friends and family over the holidays!
So, instead of coming to church this Sunday, we encourage you to make church happen in your home with friends and family. Take some time to read the scriptures, to gather and share life with friends and family, to pray and consider the hope, peace, joy, and love we have in Christ and consider how you might share that hope, peace, joy, and love with your neighbors this holiday season.
Again, this means we will not meet at church Sunday, December 28! We’ll see you again in the New Year on Sunday, January 4 at 11am!
Candlelight Christmas Eve Service
Candlelight Service
A heartfelt, traditional New England classic. On Christmas Eve we gather for a special candlelight service to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
It will be a beautiful service, full of familiar Christmas hymns, capped off with the singing of Silent Night by candlelight.
Kids Commons
We invite all children to join our main service and we will have an array of activities and coloring pages available for people of all ages in the foyer. (We will not have a separate Kids Commons space on Christmas Eve).

In addition to our normal worship, the first Sunday of every month, we celebrate communion together at the Lord’s Table.
Kids Commons
We strive to make Kids Commons a place where all kids can feel safe, be curious, and know they are loved by God.
The 0 to 6 Year Old Class is available each Sunday and can be joined anytime before or during the service.
The 1st through 5th Grade Class is available each Sunday and children are invited to join during the sermon.
SoulFood
Please join us after the service for SoulFood, a space to meet, connect, and engage with one another...all over coffee and a bite to eat.
